About Character Matters

…in his heart

This section is written with the thought towards Christian Character education – fostering Christ-centered Habits of the Heart. It is an outgrowth of Character Matters comments publish in the weekly school bulletin of Covenant Christian Academy during my tenure as the school’s Principal.

These comments are directed to fellow Character Advocates; parents, teachers, aunts and uncles, and grandparents in the partnership of TEAM2work – Teach, Encourage, Advocate, Mentor/Model, fostering godly Habits of the Heart. This partnership is indeed a joint effort of family, school, and church: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (1Cor. 15:58)

be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord

In the area of Character Education our current secular society makes little to no reference to a Biblical Worldview or Character model. To the Christian mind there is no sacred/secular distinction, no “upper or lower story” reality. All is sacred and one under the authority and headship of Christ, in “whom we live and move and have our being.” (Acts 17:28)

… in Him we live and move and have our being …

It in my intention going forward to review, revise and republish the CCA Character Matters comments and add to them as the Lord may lead.
